The theme for Halloween ’08 was the Día de Los Muertos or the Day of the Dead. A colourfully costumed sold-out crowd started the night with a haunted house tour of the Amsterdam Dungeon, followed by a Mariachi-led procession through the city centre, and a costume bash at Boom Chicago. Spook & guests honoured Mexico with a hot spicy line-up of DJs, performances, traditional altar with ofrenda’s and plenty of tequila.
Costumes
Once again, the crowd gave their all. Costumes ranged from ‘Mexico’s Favourite Toy: the ball-in-cup’ to the Pinata girls; from the ‘inside of a cockroach’ to Aztec warriors; Mexican wrestlers, Calaca’s, Catrina’s and a ‘Misfortune Teller’.
